quilts

today I visited the V&A and their new exhibition on quilts. It was AWESOME. I can't wait to start my own quilt patchworking, the exhibition was so inspiring.
(the pics here really don't do it justice)

Most of all I loved the work of the 'Fine Cell Work' a charity who help rehabilitate prisoners by teaching them embroidery and quilting skills. They sell their work to help support themselves and their families, and get much needed productive and recreational enjoyment from a learned skill. Please have a look at their work.

I realise the idea of prisoners creating artwork and making money from it could be quite contentious, please let me know what you think....
